老人ホーム。日本のいわゆる老人ホームとはニュアンスが違うかもしれない。介護や医療ケアはないっぽい。老人ホーム的なもの表すのにはほかに、nursing home, old people's home がある。前者は医療ケアありき、後者はいわゆる老人ホームに近い気がするが、日本語訳は養老院というのが一般的なようだ。養老院、、をわかってない、かも。

cousin

従妹。綴りが思い出せない... British Law などでは first cousin (いわゆる従妹) とは結婚が禁止されていて、second cousin (従妹の子) とは結婚可能である、とのこと。

Glide sound

半母音。単に glide や semivowel とも。"we" の 'w' や "yes" の 'y'。母音の前の口の準備のことを指すらしい。難しい。
